Apple: No Plans for iPhone 6 Recall Due to Defective Batteries

A report that came out yesterday indicated that Apple could expand the iPhone 6s recall program to the iPhone 6 as well, as it allegedly discovered that this particular model could also come with a defective battery.

But in a statement for AI, the Cupertino-based company says that this is not the case, as there’s no evidence that the iPhone 6 comes with a faulty battery unit as well.

“We constantly evaluate service statistics. There are no plans or grounds for a wide iPhone 6 battery exchange program at this time,” a company source was quoted as saying.
