Apple Could Launch Real Fast Charging on New iPhone

iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X already come with fast charging, but the performance of this upgraded charging system is still well behind the one in the Android ecosystem.

Apple, however, plans to tackle this difference with the upcoming iPhone generation due in the fall, as the company is reportedly aiming to offer new USB-C power adapters with USB-C to Lightning cables for even faster fast charging.

According to a post on Weibo, Cupertino could include an 18W power adapter that would enable fast charging on the new iPhones with a USB-C to Lightning cable, also expected to ship in the box. This configuration could allow fast charging from 0 to 50% in approximately 30 minutes, MR estimates.
