As promised, Apple rolled out a new software update for iOS, and while the release notes are vague, there’s a chance the company also included a fix to escape the iPhone ban in China.

iOS 12.1.2 is exclusive to iPhones, as iPads and iPod touch do not receive the new update. This means the latest version of these devices continues to be iOS 12.1.1 which was released in early December.

As for what’s changed in this software update, Apple mentions two different improvements in the changelog.

First of all, iOS 12.1.2 fixes bugs with eSIM activation for 2018 iPhones, namely iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max.

And second of all, the same update comes with improvements for users in Turkey, as Apple says that some devices suffered from unreliable cellular connectivity in the country. Only 2018 iPhones were affected, and the company confirms that all three models launched this year need this fix.
