Apple, Nobel Peace Prize Winner Malala Yousafzai Join Forces for Girls Education

Apple has officially become one of the biggest supporters of Malala Fund, a charity founded by Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Malala Yousafzai and fighting for equal opportunity and improving girls’ education.

Apple CEO Tim Cook will also join the Malala Fund leadership council, and the charity hopes that with support from the technology company, it would be able to double the number of grants included in its Gulmakai Network.

Tim Cook, an avid Apple Watch user, and Malala Yousafzai, who appears to like the Fitbit Charge 2 more, met with Lebanese and Syrian students in Beirut, Lebanon, announcing the partnership and how the Cupertino-based firm will support the expansion of Malala’s efforts.

The company says that it would assist the fund with technology, curriculum, and research, though no other specifics were provided in the official press release.
