After being in development for the past six weeks, Apple today released the final version of the iOS 10.2 mobile operating system for supported iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices.

iOS 10.2 is not a major version of Apple’s mobile OS, but it’s an important point release that brings numerous improvements across various apps, and introduces the new TV app that the Cupertino company unveiled in September during its “Hello Again” event. The companion TV app is a replacement for the Videos app and it’s only for US residents.

“iOS 10.2 introduces new features including the TV app (US only), a new and unified experience for accessing your TV programmes and films across multiple video apps. Emoji have been beautifully redesigned to reveal even more detail, and over 100 new emoji have been added including new faces, food, animals, sports, and professions,” reads the release notes.
