Apple Sued for “One of the Largest Consumer Frauds in History”
Apple is once again being sued for slowing down iPhones without telling anyone, and this time the one getting the company to court is a group of 18 individuals.
In the lawsuit filed in a Norther California federal court, the plaintiffs claim Apple is responsible for what they describe as “one of the largest consumer frauds in history,” as the company slowed down iPhones on purpose starting in January 2017.
Apple admitted in late 2017 that it shipped performance optimization software in iOS update in order to handle battery degradation. The company then launched a discounted battery replacement program and released further iOS updates that displayed the battery health of each device.
