Apple Wants to Bring Another iPhone Feature Back from the Dead

Apple is expected to release an iPhone that features both facial recognition and a fingerprint sensor, according to a report from Bloomberg, and if everything goes according to the plan, this could happen as soon as 2020.

On the other hand, Apple could push back the debut of this technology mix to 2021, the same source notes, but for the time being, it looks like the company is very keen on bringing back Touch ID as soon as possible.

Apple is willing to embrace an approach that others are already using for the fingerprint sensor, including rival Samsung. The return of Touch ID won’t happen in a traditional way, as the sensor won’t be integrated in the home button, which itself got removed when Apple debuted the iPhone X.
