Apple’s New macOS Big Sur Update Causing Black Screen on MacBook Pro
Apple launched macOS Big Sur with much fanfare only a few days ago, and now it looks like some of those who rushed to install it on day one came across one major problem.
The installation of macOS Big Sur fails on some MacBook Pro computers with a black screen, with devices thus ending up completely bricked and unable to boot back to the desktop.
There are lots of complaints online, and some say that Apple Support staff suggested various reset methods but none of them worked to bring the laptop back to a working condition.
“I downloaded Big Sur right when it came out a couple of nights ago; it already had problems downloading and I should have waited longer but was so excited I finally managed to get it to download the next morning and then it asked it restarted for the install but never turned back on and was stuck on a dim dark black screen, plugged in, for hours,” one user says on Apple’s forums.
