As we dive into the world of Apple news, this week promises to be an exciting one for MacBook enthusiasts. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is set to unveil the 2025 model MacBook Air, and it’s looking like there won’t be any delays getting in the way of this announcement.
Gurman, now the managing editor of consumer tech at Bloomberg, has been consistently reporting that the M4 MacBook Air was slated to debut as early as March. With the iPhone 16e release behind us, attention can now shift to the Mac world. So, what do we know about the new M4 MacBook Air?
Rumored specs suggest some notable upgrades over the M3 MacBook Air, including a 10-core CPU (compared to the M3’s 8-core CPU), up to 32GB RAM (compared to up to 24GB), and 120GB/s memory bandwidth (compared to 100GB/s). The 12MP Center Stage webcam is also expected to make an appearance. Additionally, there might be an optional nanotexture display option for reduced glare, along with an extra hour or two of battery life. Who knows, there might even be a few surprise features tossed in for good measure!
But what about the existing MacBook Air line? Apple’s recent move to upgrade the base RAM on the M2 and M3 models to 16GB without increasing the price could indicate that the M2 MacBook Air will remain in the lineup. On the other hand, the M3 MacBook Air might be replaced by the new M4 model. This is further supported by Amazon’s current sale of the M3 MacBook Air for $50 less than the M2 MacBook Air, hinting that the M3 is being cleared out of stock.
