Exploding Galaxy Note 7 Makes iPhone 7 the Best Selling Phone in Taiwan
Apple’s iPhone 7 is selling like hot cakes in Taiwan, according to a new report, as both the 4.7-inch and the 5.5-inch models posted record numbers last month.
TaipeiTimes is reporting via industry sources that the 4.7-inch iPhone was the best-selling smartphone in the country, and the exploding Galaxy Note 7 is one main reason. The local media explains that customers were interested in the iPhone 7 not necessarily because of the hardware upgrades that Apple made available on this model, but because of the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco.
Samsung pulled the Note 7 due to defective batteries and most customers were looking for high-end alternatives, with the iPhone 7 said to be among the models that benefitted the most from this transition.
