In Google’s case, the company to mock is none other than Apple, and this is precisely what the search giant tried to do a few days ago. And boy, the whole thing backfired quickly.

The Google Pixel Twitter account wanted to make fun of Apple’s use of the #TakeNote hashtag, so it posted a message on its own.

“Hmmm ok, I See You. #TakeNote @NBA fans…#TeamPixel is here to get you closer to your favorite team – tell us yours and we might be able to make your NBA Tip-Off even better,” the Google Pixel team tweeted.

So far, so good. This kind of marketing strategy are rather common in the tech world, and in many ways, they are actually pretty cool because it shows that even the largest companies in the industry have a sense of humor.
