iPhone 11 Displays Lock Screen Notifications If Non-Genuine Displays Are Used

The new-generation iPhone comes with updated super-powers, and in addition to the already existing capability of detecting replaced batteries, they can now tell when the device is using a non-genuine display.

And if this happens, the iPhone starts issues warning after warning to tell you that your iPhone’s display doesn’t come from Apple, with the Cupertino-based tech giant sharing all details of this new behavior in a support document on its site.

Specifically, Apple says that a non-genuine display could lead to all kinds of issues, especially when iOS updates are shipped with display improvements. These problems can include not responding multi-touch, accidental edge or palm touches, broken True Tone, battery drain, and incorrect display calibration.
