Major League Soccer Kicks Off 30th Season on Apple TV

Major League Soccer (MLS) is set to kick off its 30th season on February 22, and fans from over 100 countries will be able to watch the action unfold on the MLS Season Pass app on Apple TV. The 2025 season promises to be the biggest yet, with new ways to watch, extensive programming, and exclusive content.

"We’re excited to bring fans around the world closer to the game than ever before," said Oliver Schusser, Apple’s Vice President of Apple Music, Apple TV+, Sports, and Beats. The league will feature 30 teams, including the new San Diego FC, which will be making its debut against the reigning MLS Cup champions LA Galaxy on February 23.

New Content and Exclusive Interviews

Fans can look forward to an in-depth interview with eight-time Ballon d’Or winner and reigning MLS MVP Lionel Messi, who will be discussing his past, present, and future with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. Additionally, the league will be showing off its sleeve patches, designed by Apple TV, which will feature each club’s unique crest, color palette, and visual identity.

MLS Season Pass Now Available on Android

The Apple TV app, which is home to MLS Season Pass, is now available for download on Android devices, including phones, tablets, and foldables. Users can subscribe to MLS Season Pass using their Google Play account on Android mobile and Google TV devices.

Sunday Night Soccer

MLS Season Pass will be broadcasting a featured game of the week on Sunday evenings under the banner Sunday Night Soccer, with enhanced production and dedicated studio programming. The inaugural match will be between the new San Diego FC and the LA Galaxy, and it will be preceded by new preview shows, MLS Countdown and MLS La Previa.

T-Mobile customers can enjoy a promotional offer for complimentary access to MLS Season Pass, with no blackout dates. DIRECTV customers can access MLS Season Pass through the Apple TV app, and Xfinity customers can sign up directly through their provider.

Onside: Major League Soccer on Apple TV+

Apple TV+ will be premiering its new documentary series, Onside: Major League Soccer, featuring unprecedented access to players, coaches, and clubs, and exploring the electrifying moments and captivating stories that made the 2024 season unforgettable. The first episode will be available to MLS Season Pass subscribers from February 21 to March 3.
