Apple has released iOS 14.4.2 to all supported iPhones out there, with the company explaining in the release notes that it includes “important security updates and is recommended for all users.”

iOS 14.4.2 is available for all iPhones that received the original iOS 14 operating system update, so it can be installed on the iPhone 6s and newer.

But at the same time, a security patch is also available for older iPhone models, including the iPhone 5s and iPhone 6 as part of an update aimed at iOS 12. As a result, these devices should see iOS 12.5.2 now available for download in the software update section in settings.

According to the official update information, the new update resolves a glitch in WebKit that would allow a malicious website to launch an arbitrary cross-site scripting attack. But the worse thing is that Apple says it’s already of attacks based on this flaw out there in the wild, so in theory, some devices may have already been attacked.
