Apple Sues Partner for Not Destroying 100,000 iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches

Apple has filed a lawsuit against partner Geep Canada, accusing the company of bringing back on the market over 100,000 devices that were supposed to be stripped down and recycled.

If you watched Apple’s live events, you probably noticed that the Cupertino-based tech giant is making investments in reducing the environmental impact a priority in the long term. And because it wants old devices to be recycled correctly, it was working with Geep Canada to take care of old electronics.

But according to a lawsuit filed recently, what its partners did was actually bring back to the market around 100,000 iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches that were supposed to be retired completely.

While Apple claims that the whole thing happened with its partner knowing about it, the devices that were supposed to be destroyed ended up on the market with the involvement of employees part of the senior management team.
