YouTube 12.45 for iOS Finally Addresses Battery Issues on iPhone

Google has released an update for the YouTube app on iOS that finally addresses the battery issues that iPhone users experienced lately.

Now at version 12.45, YouTube for iOS doesn’t include anything else than a fix “for an issue with battery usage,” which is living proof that Google has been well aware of the complaints from the Apple community and silently worked on a patch.

YouTube has slowly become one of the main battery hogs on iOS, with lots of iPhone users giving up on the official client and looking for alternatives just because battery usage reached record levels. Unfortunately, several third-party YouTube clients for the iPhone were pulled from the App Store lately, so options in this regard were quite limited, with many deciding instead to stick with the browser version of YouTube.
