Apple’s 2019 iPhones Could Feature USB Type-C

Apple dropping Lightning in favor of USB-C isn’t exactly a new thing, as the company has reportedly explored this plan several times in the past, but according to a new report, the switch could finally happen on the 2019 iPhone generation.

Citing supply chain sources, Macotakara writes that Apple wants the iPhone to embrace USB Type-C on all models, as the company has already made the first step in this direction by bringing this connector to the iPad Pro.

While it becomes more obvious that the iPhone would eventually switch to USB-C too, the bigger question is when this is going to happen, as the cited source says these plans haven’t been finalized yet.
