Immediately after releasing the major iOS 11 update to supported iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices, Apple informed developers that it increased the limit for OTA (Over-the-Air) App Store downloads to 150 MB.
iOS 10 allowed users to only download apps from the App Store that had less than 100 MB in size when using a cellular connection like 3G or LTE (4G). That was a good thing, in the way that you would save a lot of money on your cell phone bills each month.
But things have evolved lately and more, and more mobile carriers now offer unlimited data plans all over the world, so being able to download apps from the App Store that have more than 100 MB in size it’s a good thing. Though, Apple now set the limit to 150 MB.
