Google Maps Gets the Best Feature of Waze on iPhone
Google is very committed to improving the experience with Google Maps on all platforms where the app is available, and next in queue is iOS.
The iPhone version of Google Maps has recently been updated with support for error reporting, letting users contribute with reports on crashes, speed traps, and traffic slowdowns.
This feature debuted on Android earlier this year, and Google says it “has been one of our most popular on Android,” so bringing it to iOS is a natural thing to do.
The community-based traffic reports are the essential feature powering a separate navigation app also owned by Google. Waze, which is described as a “traffic navigation app,” uses information submitted by users to avoid traffic jams, with reports including police, road construction, and other hazards that drivers must be alerted of in advance when driving towards a new destination.
