Apple’s promised $29 USD iPhone battery replacement program is already here, and you should start preparing your old iPhone to send it in service for a new battery.
A couple of weeks ago, Apple admitted that it released an iOS software update last year that throttles the performance of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s devices with degraded batteries to prevent unexpected shutdowns under certain conditions like cold weather if the battery had a low charge.
